Creative Writing # 1 -- Starting Strong
-Choose one of the images shown in class and write a short story based on this image.
-Remember, the focus of this task is to start with an engaging beginning that captivates the reader.
-Use one of the methods of starting a story discussed in class.
Creative Writing # 2 --Descriptive Writing
-Write a paragraph where you describe an event. You do not have to describe all of the event -- pick a moment to focus on.
-Focus on using strong diction (word choice) and including specific details.
-Potential Topics:
-a sporting event (boxing match, soccer game, etc.)
-a car crash
-a wedding
-a graduation ceremony
-any other event of your choice
Creative Writing # 3 -- Third Person Description of Someone
-Describe yourself or another person you know well
- Describe yourself from the outside, using the third person.
- Look back at yourself as an observer, and notice first your physical characteristics.
- Describe your facial features and your body—size, shape, weight, manner.
- Don’t forget hair, skin, eyes—especially eyes.
- Focus on including specific details and using the senses to create the image (imagery)

-Write a dialogue between two characters. Your piece should include both narration and dialogue.
-Focus on following proper dialogue rules and using dialogue to add to the piece.
-Focus on creating a specific tone in your piece.
-Topic:
-Pick a specific situation
-Conversation between a boss and his/her employee
-Conversation between siblings
-Conversation between a bride and a groom
-Conversation between parents
-Any other topic of your choice
